This architect-occupied passive home in NE Portland, is topped with up to 8″ of soil which is considered an extra-deep (extensive) ecoroof,
To create a landscape on the roof, and to protect the edges of the membrane from being exposed to UV rays, we kept the surface of the medium level to align with the top of the parapet walls. This is common practice to avoid long-term degradation of the roof.
