Sullivan’s Gulch Re-roof and Seismic Upgrade
In 2016, Manning Design + Construction contracted with the owners of Tudor Gardens Homeowners Association, which consists of 20 individually owned housing units in a 1920s unreinforced masonry building in Sullivan’s Gulch, to replace all the roofing. This entailed seismically upgrading the unreinforced masonry at the roof level, and bracing the brick parapets. In the process, we installed all roof to wall connections on the stucco over clay tile façade, which required using epoxy anchors with screen tubes to attach clay to framing. The mansard roof around half the building required asbestos abatement and treatment.
